Brother Delmar
It is with sadness and rejoicing that we hear of Delmar having gone home to be with the Lord. Delmar's beloved wife, Helen and their children, Gary and Helen were with Delmar at the end. We will miss him but know he is now healthy and joyful. I am praying for Helen who has lost her life partner and soul-mate. They were married for over 60 years. Delmar was preaching the gospel and winning souls to Christ right up until the end. What an incredible legacy and I feel honored to have been his friend and sister-in-Christ. Delmar, until we see you again.....

Florida
OK, so it is 90 degrees and 90% humidity, the snakes and spiders are poisonous, we are in the middle of hurricane season, oh and the frogs are the size of my hand. But I love Florida :-) Now if only we could go from June right into October I would be very, very happy. Now I know all my friends and family in other parts are probably horrified at that but for Florida, it is a great idea!

Please Pray for Angie and her little boy, Robbie. You may not know what is going on but I am asking that you just lift them up in prayer. Thank you!

Elijah's 1 Year Old Check-Up
On the 17th of May we celebrated Elijah's first birthday. It is hard to believe our sweet baby is a year old already but indeed he is. We still thank God every day for this sweet little miracle, our son.
Elijah's doctor's appointment for his check-up and vaccinations was on Tuesday. One of the vaccinations was against Chickenpox. It still seems odd to me to think that Elijah will not get Chickenpox. I remember Matthew and Nicholas having it and am so thankful a vaccine is now in use.
Elijah weighed 17lbs and 6 ounces and was 28 and a half inches tall. He is very small for his age but is developing really well in all areas. His pediatrician said Elijah looks great.

New Word
Elijah loves his big brother Nicholas. We were visiting Nicholas this afternoon and Elijah was almost saying Nick. The "ck" sound was missing off the end but Elijah sure was saying the "Ni" part. We had a fun afternoon and evening.

Papa
Yesterday Elijah said Papa. Yay, happy, happy Ivan :)
Elijah now says Mama, Papa and bird and all 3 words at appropriate times. So cute :)

Mama
Big excitement in the Leibbrandt home. This evening Elijah said "Mama" several times. As you can imagine Mama is very happy indeed!
This came after a wonderful day at Church for Easter Fun Day.

Charles Spurgeon Moment
I read this tonight and it just seemed "so right"
"We have not completely conquered the spirit of the world until we can truthfully say that the commandments of God, so far from being grievous to us, are acceptable simply because they come from Him."

Here is a great way to celebrate Lent (I grew up in the Church of England, Pancake Tuesday and all that)

Precious unborn children need our protection now more than ever with our current President's support for abortion. Heartbreaking. Please, help where you can.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year
Wow, we are already a week into 2009. It will be Christmas in no time!
We had a wonderful Christmas and hope you all did too. Elijah sure made Christmas extra special at the Leibbrandts.
My laptop is away being fixed so I am alternating between using my old one and Ivan's Mac which is why I did not post this sooner. I will not be buying a Mac! Ivan thinks Macs are the greatest but I am not a fan.
Ivan, Elijah and I wish you all a very happy and healthy 2009.
